Some backyards just get away from you. Dense brush, tangled shrubs, and woody growth take over - and before long, you've got a section of your property that's basically unusable. That's exactly what we were dealing with on this Mills River job. The overgrowth was thick and well-established, the kind that doesn't go down without a real fight.
We went in with the right equipment and started working through it layer by layer. Hand cutting, clearing, hauling - our land clearing process isn't just about knocking stuff down. It's about actually opening up the space so it can be used again. You can see the cleared ground starting to take shape as we worked our way through the property.
Once the bulk of the vegetation was out, we finished the cleared area with a straw layer to help stabilize the soil and protect the ground while it recovers. It's a small detail that makes a big difference - especially on a sloped section like this one. Skipping that step can lead to erosion and a muddy mess the next time it rains.
What you're left with is real, usable space. The property went from an impenetrable wall of brush to open, clean ground with clear visibility across the yard. The homeowner can now actually make decisions about what they want to do with that space - whether that's lawn, landscaping, or something else entirely. That's the whole point of property preparation work like this.
If you've got a section of your yard or property that's gotten out of hand, this is the kind of work we do all the time across Western NC. Land clearing doesn't have to be a project you keep putting off.
